What is Breakout Ski?

Breakout Ski is one of the biggest and best open access trips in the Alps for students and non-students from all over the UK. Our cheap ski trips are for everyone – from complete beginners to budding freestylers. Skiers, boarders, snow shoe-ers…everyone is welcome! Breakout Ski is typically orientated to a younger crowd such as students and post-graduates, but those with more years experience and wisdom, as well as families, also enjoy our affordable holidays.

homexcfBreakout Ski represents a new era in skiing and snowboarding: never before have snowsports holidays been such great value! The Breakout model cuts out the middlemen and does away with greedy profit margins to deliver snowsports holidays that are affordable, without compromising on quality.

Breakout_SkierWe love skiing and boarding, and we don’t believe that it should cost an arm and a leg. That’s why in 2010, we brought Breakout Ski to people all over the UK, at prices previously unseen in the snowsports industry! Since then, the philosophy has not changed, but Breakout has expanded to offer new destinations and more date flexibility with each new season. For the 2015/2016 season, we will be returning to the Breakout Ski tried and tested favourite resorts of Tignes Val Claret, Alpe d’Huez, Val Thorens, and Avoriaz.

How does Breakout Ski work?

Your 5-step guide to securing an amazing and affordable week in the snow:

  1. Decide on your favourite Breakout Ski resort and pick one of the available dates
  2. Rally-up your friends (there is no minimum or maximum group size – solo travellers are also welcome)
  3. Fill in a booking form to get a unique booking ID for your friends (this will ensure that your individual bookings are consolidated so that you are accommodated together)
  4. Each person books their trip online individually using your unique booking ID. A £50 deposit is required at the point of booking, whilst the remaining balance is payable at least 6 weeks prior to departure. Extras such as ski hire and lessons can be ordered and added to each person’s individual package in the online booking system.
  5. Sit back, relax, congratulate yourself, and start looking forward to the best week of your year!

The standard package price includes all of the following.

  • Return travel from London Victoria to the resort, via overnight coach.
  • Ski lift pass valid for 6 days (Sunday-Friday)
  • 7 nights accommodation in self catered shared apartments
  • Dedicated Breakout Ski reps

How can ski hire and lessons be arranged?

Through Breakout Ski, shi hire can be arranged at heavily discounted prices, compared to the prices which you would pay in resort directly. We have a long running relationship with carefully selected equipment providers, who provide the highest quality and most diverse range of equipment, catering to all budgets and all skill-levels. Ski hire packages can be selected and added to your package at the point of booking your holiday through the online booking system.

Group ski and boarding lessons are also available for purchase through our booking system, at preferential rates. Lessons are recommended for those with no skiing or snowboarding experience, and they can also be an excellent way for skiers and boarders of all levels to accelerate their improvement and push their limits whilst enjoying the mountain in a comfortable environment. Lessons typically take place during the morning or afternoon, giving you the rest of the day to practice and have fun. Lesson packages of 3 or 5 days are available. Individual lessons can also be arranged in resort.

What is the standard transport option?

All Breakout holidays include return transport from London Victoria via overnight coach, as standard. Some holidays also include the option for transport from Manchester, Liverpool or Edinburgh. Buses depart in the evening, and are well-timed to ensure a restful overnight journey so that you wake up fresh in resort the next day. We select our coach company partners carefully, to ensure that Breakout Skiers travel on the most modern and comfortable vehicles.

Each passenger is allowed to bring one suitcase and one small item of luggage to sit under the seat in front of you if desired. Skis/boards can also be carried in addition for just £10 return. The number of spaces for skis and boards on the coach is limited.

If you do not need the transport option, you can remove this from your booking for a saving of (€TBC) from the standard package price.
